HELP US ON OUR MISSION FOR UNAPOLOGETIC STORYTELLING
We’re passionate about uncovering niche stories in youth and dance culture—whether it’s the rise of sauna raves, Colonel Gaddafi’s disco record label, or the unique Cholombiano subculture in Mexico. Our goal is to make these subcultures mappable, offering a perspective in music journalism that you won’t find anywhere else.
Dance Policy operates without external funding. Right now, we rely on just £49 per month in donations. If you value what we do, can you help us reach £100?

Why Is My Contribution Important?
Dance Policy was once a one-man operation - our founder, Zak, managed the platform on his own, with all costs coming out of his own pocket. At the end of 2024 Dance Policy expanded into a full team, with an editorial section, business development team and events team.
We continue to be a fully independent magazine and platform, but continue to pay for the production of events and magazines, plus our website out of our own pocket. The profit we make from selling merch and tickets for events is not enough alone to cover the day-to-day costs of running Dance Policy.
One of Dance Policy’s aims is to be able to pay all commissioned creatives for their work.
The Dance Policy donation model helps us reach this goal, continue to build and expand our work while helping us to cover the costs of:
Website maintenance and redevelopment
Merch development
Magazine and event production
Graphics and design
